24.365.2014 Standby

I had a very busy day… Of waiting. First, it was supposed to be a really busy day. Then I skipped a meeting to get caught up and was feeling really good. I was leaving right around 1 to catch a flight to Columbus. I checked my phone to see a notice from Delta that my flight was delayed… 3 hours! So I put my bag down and worked some more.

After feeling REALLY caught up, I went home, picked up Dave and headed to the airport… Where we waited in snowy traffic.

We got to the airport and sat down for dinner… Only to see that our flight was cancelled!! So we went to the counter and was told that we were rebooked on a 9 am through Detroit. The lady told us there was a 7 pm we could go standby on. So we grabbed some food and waited some more!

There were about 18 people on standby and we were numbers 6&7. My name was called for the last seat. I told the agent that I was traveling with someone else and she asked if we’d split up. I said no and magically a second seat appeared!

So, we caught the last two seats on a snowy, windy flight. Then we drove the 1 hr to Courthouse. But at least we are here.

This morning we rushed to get ready and have another cold and blustery morning at the dog park. It was snowing a lot more today which was fun. Dave looked like he was a snow-covered eyelash model.

Diohgé playing hide and seek.

But the best part of the day was going gun shopping! Matthew and Beth took us and we went to both Cabela’s and Gander Mountain. After much debate and one quick phone call, I settled on a used Browning Citori XS Ultra. It’s real purty. I can’t wait to use it!

363.365.2013 It’s Cold Outside

Today was a negative temp day. It never got above zero and the windchill was typically double digit negative.

Have no fear! We put on several layers and made our way out to the dog park mid afternoon. The dogs loved it!

The rest of the day was spent relaxing, moving photos around the computer, watching TV, etc.

360.365.2013 Houseguests

I love waking up and FaceTiming with the kids! After having a coffee (or two), the family called and we Facetimed so I could watch the kids open their Mini iPads. They were so excited! Maggie, “Oh my gosh!! I love it! I LOVE IT!”

Then our houseguest for the next week came over. Xander is an 8mo old pup who loves to play with Diohgé! They played in the backyard for about an hour before we headed to the DP for another hour or so.

Tonight we went to dinner (impromptu) with the Kemmetmueller’s at BLVD. We had a great time before heading over to Apple to exchange Dave’s iPad.

Now we are enjoying Anchorman.
And by enjoying, I mean evaluating it to see if I want to see #2 tomorrow.

345.365.2013 Snow Friends

Meh. It was a great day… Busy recapping Black Friday. Busy in meetings. Busy on conference calls. And then it began to snow. And snow harder. It was really coming down. I had to get out of dodge. I can’t handle stupid traffic so I left and came home to work.

The our friends Matthew & Rob came over for dinner tonight to discuss all things decorating, vacations, and other fun. We had a great dinner and some great drinks.

The pooch was so tired tonight. He’s saying good bye to our friends and getting some love.
