This kid has been smiling for 63 years the same way. Even now, while battling an aggressive cancer, he wakes up and gives us a cheesy grin. He dances to the oldies playing, tells old stories, talks alot about his tools. He tells us he loves us. And then he goes back to sleep.
I’m amazed at the grace he has in death. His doctor (of years) said that he was a leader in life and would now be a leader in death. No truer words have been spoken.
Smiling until the end…

What a great picture! I love looking at those old family photos, they’re a window into a life before we were in it:) How basic a school picture seems. Yet years later when you can still pick out those distinguishing features that the person has had their entire life, that one little picture takes on a whole new meaning. Proof that a smile is ageless perhaps:) I think it’s fun to see a little bit of yourself in those pictures and know that there’s a little bit of them in you.
Hugs to you and your family!
Thanks Julie! π
That is sooo true. This picture looks so much like him. Hugs to you all. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love you!
Wow..Sara has his eyes! Give him a huge hug for us! We are looking forward to a visit next week.
Love you guys!
When are you coming!?
Thinking of you Dave. You’re a good man.
Dr! Thanks for the note… I really appreciate it.
We are former neighbors and still good friends of Molly & Tom’s. Molly has kept us posted about family when they lived on our street and by email and phone after they moved. So naturally they would forward us the latest posting that was wonderful of them to share. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers – during this sharing time.

That is something I will always remember about your dad. He was always happy and in a good mood. He always tried to joke with us even when Sara and I were being brats. He is a wonderful man and will always hold a special place in my heart.
