Day 255

The Trip Home…

We woke up this morning and had a nice little breakfast with Shane and Jule before leaving. The Green Tomato taxi picked us up… the only car in the city that operates completely green. It was great to see all of our luggage weighing down the Prius. πŸ™‚ Β And I love that they have WiFi in the car!

Heathrow wasn’t too busy… nice to get through security, etc. And the NINE HOUR plane flight was a little daunting. The pilot told us that we’d be a little late because of the headwinds being so strong. We went through some turbulence for a little over an hour… That wasn’t fun. Over Ireland and parts of the ocean… But afterwards, it smoothed out and they did a great job… kept on climbing altitude and/or diverting so that we’d miss more. I thought that we’d never get home.

But we did! We had our drivers (Joe, Julie and Bailey!) pick us up… we stopped at Davanni’s for some pizza and now are in the middle of True Blood. Exciting!

Day 254

Today was very nice and relaxing… sleeping in, large English breakfast of oil (bacon, bangers, eggs…), a train ride out to the Gardens and then the train ride back. Shane and Jule spent the day with us… We went out to Kew Gardens (another palace from the day) and we walked around a bit. It was great weather, almost too warm for London. πŸ™‚

Shane then cooked a HUGE dinner… Dave and I packed up and then we also took a “quick” (2.5 hour) journey down to Tower Bridge to take some more night time photos. When we got back we had chili, bangers & mash and finished it off with some chocolate cookies and tea. Yum.

Back home tomorrow on a NINE hour flight… I’m a little nervous as turbulence has got me all upset lately. But, I really don’t have much of a choice, eh?
