Day 207

New York City!!

Times Square!

Ok, I promise to have some better pictures this week. But, can you believe that I really didn’t even have time to pull out my camera today!?

First, my 7 am flight was cancelled and they tried to rebook me on a 7 pm. Yeah, that didn’t work. I atleast got out at 1 pm, in at 5pm. However, I sat in the middle seat so I didn’t get to take ANY pictures of the beautiful skyline on the way in.Β Taxied over to the hotel, dropped off my bags and ran up to Times Square to meet some new friends for dinner. Had a great dinner at this little Cuban restaurant. They took me over to the new Harlem Target (they are Target friends, of course). WOW, that store is crazy.

While I was in Times Square, I got to snap this shot quickly… πŸ™‚ Β  More to come!

Day 206

Blue Skies and Sunshine

SunShine

I might be in love with my new wide angle lens. Anywhoo… We went to the Arboretum today and enjoy some great views, great flowers and a blazing heat. I love this shot because you can see the sun rays and the spot reflecting in the bottom. And I’ve always been fond of Weeping Willows.

Nice way to end Joe and Julie’s Birthday weekend!

Day 205

Roller Coasters!

Motion

We went to Valley Fair today to continue the celebration for Joe and Julie’s birthday. I don’t ride the rides, so I got take some shots. Over 300! Some great motion ones… this was one of my favorites with both the Flying Trapeze AND the Power Drop in the background.

Day 203

It Runs in the Family

The Collection

The Original

My Original

How fun is this!? I brought home my dad’s old cameras that were at the house. He sure had a collection! I’m not actually sure that he used all of these or if he collected some. I know that the Pentax with the amazing 70s strap was his. Note second picture with him using it! Clearly, photography runs in the family.

Dad also got mom into photography… bought her a couple of cameras, new lenses, etc. Sara also now has a nice camera and is getting to learn how to shoot the kids FAST while they are moving. πŸ™‚

Also, while I was home, we were looking through old photos. My mom has been hiding one book from me all of my life… ( πŸ™‚ ) And guess what I found! MY first camera! I couldn’t believe it… How fun!
