Our last day in Portland… We had some breakfast, checked out and then headed over to the Portland Saturday Market. A large open-air craft bazaar that is only open on the weekends.

We did have some yummy coffee from a local coffee house… Stumptown. Yum!

Afterwards, we headed to the airport a bit early so that we could grab a beverage and some lunch. Rogue beer! Another local craft brew.

I did enjoy a special brew in a special glass in honor of my dad. Cheers… It’s been 3 long years and we all miss you! (But know you would have loved this humor.)

The flight home had some gorgeous views. This one of Mt. Hood and another in the distance.

And look at the curious pooch meeting another new (and as Julie says), noisy friend!

194.365.2013 Wineries of Oregon

Today was our wine tasting excursion. We booked a driver and a very comfortable Denali to take us up to wine country.

We choose the Dundee Hills area based on a lot of recommendations from folks. Our driver recommended a couple of places that were great as well. Every place either had good wine or a great view or both.

Somehow we managed to hit 7 places, only bring home one case (that we didn’t need) and join no wine clubs. 🙂

One last day and then we’re home for awhile. I’m excited!! And Diohgé will be too!!

193.365.2013 Portlandia for Real

First day of “vacation” for Portland… We actually got up early and caught a tour to see Multnomah Falls and the Columbia Gorge area. It was beautiful! The tour guide did a nice job giving us history of the area and showing us just where to see the sights.

When we got back, we shopped a bit and had lunch at Nordstrom’s Cafe. Then a friend texted and invited us over for a beer.

Once we arrived, we ended up having a great time with some yummy wine, a great cheese platter and then some dinner. The kids were so much fun… The dog was snuggly and the night was perfect! Thanks Frerichs’!

Our pooch was also having a blast with his friends…

192.365.2013 Brew Pubs!?

My colleagues and I worked all day at the store fixing what we didn’t like or what turned out as an issue from what we planned. We got a ton accomplished! And so we celebrated…

Deschutes Brewery and Public House… Oh. My. Goodness. Amazing (cheap) beers and even better food. Crazy!

The Mac and Cheese with sausage and Obsidian Stout sauce, the Black Butte XXV and the sweet potato fries were crazy amazing good. I knew Portland was big on food…

My pooch is having some fun in the country chasing his cousin Bailey…
